One of the best things in life is pleasant surprises, and Eagle Glen Golf Club on Corona’s lofty west side is full of them. The first time people lay eyes on its cupola-topped clubhouse, with its portico of impressive cinnamon-colored wood trusses, they often say to themselves, "I had no idea there was such an amazing place up here!" Their next surprise comes when they step into the soaring light-splashed lobby and see the quality of the architecture and design. But that’s just a prelude to the final treat: the stunning view, first glimpsed through the lobby’s glass doors and windows, and later fully appreciated from the ballroom and its spacious shaded veranda.
What they see is striking: Eagle Glen ambles along the base of some very steep hills on the eastern edge of Cleveland National Forest; the chaparral-covered heights just seem to plummet from the sky. As long as you’re on golf course grass, you’re in a private, human realm. But once you leave the greens and start heading up the hills, you’re in a different—and wild—domain of untamed landscapes. Eagle Glen gives you the wonderful sensation of gazing over nature’s might from an absolutely civilized vantage.

Outdoor ceremonies take place under an unpretentious white wooden arbor, perched on a small rise above a reed-ringed pond with a fountain playing at its center. All around are close-cropped greens that flow up to the foot of the hills. A graceful low wooden bridge that spans the lake at its narrowest point is a splendid picture-posing site. But if you’re looking for something more dramatic, you can stroll up to the top of a high knoll that overlooks the course’s back nine holes, which hug a sheer-walled canyon.
Eagle Glen’s 100-foot-long ballroom (which can be divided) is managed by a seasoned catering staff that handles scores of weddings each year. From the ballroom, you can peer out through eight-foot-high windows and glass doors to the veranda and beyond. Here, guests can sit and savor the picturesque views that caught their eye the first time they entered the facility: the back nine’s grand swath of lawn, tumbling toward you from the national forest’s wild edge; the ceremony arbor; and the driving range near the clubhouse front, with its population of intensely focused players. In the afterglow of a lovely ceremony and good food, you and your guests will feel a sense of total satisfaction as the sun sets behind the mountains, bringing the day to a fulfilling close.
Perched just above the tree-lined streets of the surrounding community, and next to a National Forest, Eagle Glen really is one of Corona’s best-kept secrets. And after experiencing this inviting venue’s beautiful location and high-quality services, you and your guests will not be disappointed.
